Job summary

Tap Zenn in Loanhead, Midlothian is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Fabricator to join a growing steel fabrication business. You will fabricate structural components in a busy workshop, reading drawings and MIG welding, with overtime opportunities.

The role is permanent, full-time with a competitive hourly rate and a modern workshop environment on varied projects across Scotland.

Qualifications

• Experience as Structural Steel Fabricator or related roles.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Experience with structural steelwork.
• MIG welding experience.

Responsibilities

• Fabricating structural steelwork from engineering drawings.

Structural Steel Fabricator

Loanhead, Midlothian (EH20)

£15.00 - £18.00 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Structural Steel Fabricator to join a well-established and growing steel fabrication business based in Loanhead, Midlothian.

Our client specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of structural steelwork, architectural metalwork, staircases, and bespoke steel solutions for a wide range of construction projects throughout Scotland. The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality fabrication and installation services across commercial, industrial, and public-sector developments.

The Role

As a Structural Steel Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating a variety of structural steel components within a busy workshop environment.

• Fabricating structural steelwork from engineering drawings
• Measuring, marking out, cutting, and assembling steel sections
• Working with beams, columns, plate work, and bespoke steel components
• Using fabrication machinery and workshop equipment safely
• MIG welding structural steel components
• Ensuring all work is completed to quality and safety standards
• Working effectively as part of an experienced fabrication team

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Structural Steel Fabricator, Steel Fabricator, Plater/Fabricator, or Fabricator Welder
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
• Experience working with structural steelwork
• MIG welding experience
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Reliable and positive attitude towards work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
