Job summary

RNN Group is seeking an Engineering Technician (Fabrication and Welding) to join the team at Rotherham College. This full-time, permanent role involves hands-on support in the fabrication and welding workshops, aiding both staff and students during practical sessions.

You will help develop and maintain facilities, ensure safety and compliance, and collaborate with other technicians on departmental projects to drive better learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in Fabrication and Welding.
• Level 2 English and Maths (or willing to undertake).
• Industry experience in fabrication and welding.

Responsibilities

• Workshop preparation: set out equipment and materials for practical work.
• Safety cover during practical classes and ensure workshops are safe.
• Assist in constructing apparatus and preparing materials as required.
• Distribute tools and consumables; monitor return of equipment.
• Maintain and clean machinery; keep workshops tidy and safe.
• Monitor stock levels; order replacements; maintain stock records.
• Ensure workshop security; notify Curriculum Team Leader of losses or damages.
• Attend team meetings; support other areas when required.
