Job summary

Victaulic Europe B.V. in Stevenage seeks a Fabrication Cell Lead Technician to direct daily fabrication cell activities, organize work, and supervise technicians while upholding safety, quality and productivity standards.

You will lead safety initiatives, coordinate with subcontractors, maintain the skills matrix, coach staff, and ensure drawings, cut sheets and paperwork meet job specifications. This role requires hands-on fabrication experience, blueprint reading, ERP system use, forklift

Qualifications

• Secondary or technical secondary education.
• Minimum of 3 years' technical experience.
• Ability to read blueprint and schematic drawings and interpret technical manuals.
• Basic inventory management skills.
• Forklift experience with license required after employment.
• Experience using an ERP package.
• Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
• Excellent communication with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety for the fabrication cell and enforce policies.
• Organize daily work and supervise cell technicians.
• Coordinate subcontracted activities (welding/painting).
• Onboard new technicians and cross-train within the cell.
• Maintain skills matrix and verify workstation competence.
• Provide day-to-day coaching and feedback.
• Coordinate fabrication activities including cutting, grooving and assembly.
• Review drawings and cut sheets for job specifications.
• Assist in picking, packing and loading orders as required.
• Coordinate demo material assembly for Marketing/Regulatory.
• Calibrate measuring equipment and ensure quality checks.
• Maintain clean, safe prefabrication areas.
• Identify layout and process improvements for safety/quality/productivity.
