Job summary

Travail Employment Group is recruiting a Fabrication Team Leader for our Corby client, a global leader in material handling solutions. You will oversee daily production, ensure safety, quality and on‑time delivery, and remain hands‑on on the shop floor while driving training and cross‑functional development.

You will plan resources, monitor schedules, maintain training compliance, and push continuous improvement in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with a team of 5+ welders.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified welder with leadership / supervisory experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GA layouts.
• Understanding of BOMs (Bills of Materials).
• Strong mechanical assembly skills, torque settings, fastening methods.
• Quality inspection and dimensional checking experience.
• Background in high-paced manufacturing.
• Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience (team of 5+).
• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Manufacturing.
• FLT and Crane Licences.

Responsibilities

• Lead and champion all QHSE standards, ensuring safety inspections, housekeeping, and compliance are consistently maintained.
• Ensure all products are manufactured and stored to the highest quality standards, following engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
• Act as a hands‑on operator, able to carry out all fabrication processes and support cross‑functional training.
• Plan daily resources effectively to meet production targets
• Maintain accurate documentation, including conformance checks and SOP compliance.
• Support the creation and upkeep of training plans, ensuring operatives are trained across multiple processes and complete bi‑annual refreshers.
• Communicate KPIs clearly to your team, coaching and developing individuals to improve performance.
• Assist with recruitment and training of new employees.
• Encourage a positive safety culture, including near‑miss reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
