Job summary

Gymshark seeks a Fabric Technologist to develop woven and knitted fabrics and trims from concept to bulk production. You will work with Product Development, Design, Colour, and Sourcing, and collaborate with mills and suppliers to deliver high-performance materials.

The role emphasizes sustainability, quality validation, and documentation, with a strong focus on meeting seasonal deadlines and on-site collaboration at Gymshark HQ in Solihull.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in materials development.
• Strong knowledge of fabric and material technology.
• Experience developing woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, and/or trims/components.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory testing standards.
• Experience working with suppliers and mills throughout development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and industrialise woven and knitted fabrics and trims/components.
• Ensure development milestones align with seasonal calendar deadlines.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Design, Colour and Sourcing teams.
• Partner with mills and suppliers from concept to industrialisation for high performance fabrics.
• Support material quality validation through laboratory testing and compliance.
• Contribute to supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Integrate sustainability considerations into material development to reduce environmental impact.
• Maintain accurate material specifications, test reports and sustainability records.
• Update physical and digital material and trim libraries.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, performance, sustainability and cost.
