Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Fabric Technician to join our team at a busy manufacturing site in Barnard Castle. The role covers fabric maintenance, repairs and project delivery, with responsibility for coordinating subcontractors and handling health and safety paperwork.

You will work 37.5 hours per week, contributing to ongoing site maintenance and refurbishment tasks. The ideal candidate will hold a C&G or NVQ in a fabric trade, with practical experience in carpentry, painting, decorating, plumbing and

Job description

ROLE: Fabric TechnicianHOURS: 37.5hours a weekLOCATION: Barnard Castle

We're looking for a Fabric Technician who will support the delivery of varying construction and refurbishment projects, managing subcontractors and associated health and safety paperwork, whilst undertaking fabric maintenance and repairs across a busy and aged manufacturing site.

Role Responsibilities:

• Delivery of varying construction and refurbishment projects, managing subcontractors and associated health and safety paperwork.
• Undertaking fabric maintenance and repairs across a busy and aged manufacturing site.
• Fabric maintenance activities.
• General carpentry such as repairs to doors and furniture.
• Basic plumbing.
• Minor repairs and maintenance on walls and ceilings.
• Tiling repairs and wall repairs.
• Painting and decorating.
• Other general building services such as housekeeping.
• Repairs and maintenance to building fabric.
• Remedial minor building works following PPM activities completed by other service lines.
• Painting and decorating projects (as and when required).
• Flooring repairs and new installations.
• Basic plastering.
• Maintenance of kitchens, bathrooms and communal areas.
• Carpentry works.
• Stock management of site consumables.
• Support to the office moves team.

Required Qualifications:

• Qualified to a C&G or NVQ in a fabric trade, such as carpentry, painting and decorating, etc.
• Previous experience of working as a Fabric Technician.
