Job summary

The Celtic Collection is seeking a Fabric Engineer – Fire Safety to join our Maintenance team at Celtic Manor Resort, Newport. This role focuses on maintaining fire safety systems, doors and related fabric, with a key aim of compliance and guest safety.

You will develop specialist skills, work with hand and power tools, and contribute to emergency responses when required. Competitive salary and extensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance/construction/carpentry or facilities
  • Good practical skills and proactive problem solving
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance and health & safety practices
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexible approach, including emergency responses
  • Basic IT skills (Word, Excel, email)
  • Willingness to learn specialist fire safety maintenance skills

Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance, repairs and inspections of fire doors, fire stopping systems and fire compartmentation throughout the Resort
  • Assist with planned preventative maintenance programmes for fire safety fabric
  • Respond to breakdowns and unforeseen maintenance issues
  • Identify defects and undertake repair work to ensure continued compliance and safety
  • Conduct inspections of plant areas, service spaces and guest areas to identify potential issues
  • Maintain accurate records and complete purchase requisitions for required materials
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with Health & Safety and Fire Safety legislation
  • Work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure all fire safety systems remain serviceable and compliant
  • Participate in training courses and professional development opportunities
  • Assist with emergency call outs outside normal working hours when required
  • Maintain departmental equipment, tools and stock to the highest standards

This is anexciting opportunity to develop specialist fire safety and carpentry skillswhile helping to ensure the safety and compliance of our Resort buildings.

OUR IDEALHERO WILL HAVE -
  • Experience within a maintenance, construction, carpentry or facilities environment
