Job summary

BJF Group is seeking a skilled Fabric Engineer to deliver high-quality maintenance and repairs on MoD properties. You will handle carpentry tasks, tiling, plastering, and decorating, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and documenting work in the CAFM system.

The role requires NVQ2+ in building services or equivalent and a carpentry qualification, with experience in preventative and reactive maintenance. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or above in a building services/trade discipline or equivalent.
• Carpentry qualification.
• Experience carrying out trade related maintenance, installation and fault finds.
• Experience of planned preventative maintenance and reactive works / tasks completed within KPI's.
• Basic building fabric repair—Painting & decorating, Bricklaying and Plastering.
• Timber and UPVC door and window repairs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver maintenance and fault-finding for building fabric on MoD properties.
• Respond to reactive calls and perform first fix where possible.
• Plan and execute fabric maintenance tasks with auditable records in the CAFM system.
• Collaborate with site service managers to keep sites in good decorative order.
• Maintain safety in line with Health & Safety legislation and site protocols.
• Adopt relevant control measures to ensure safety of colleagues and clients.
• Present a professional image and maintain high customer care standards.
• Be versatile and undertake other reasonable duties to support operations.
