Job summary

HVAC Recruitment is seeking a Fabric Engineer for a static site in RG41 (Wokingham). You will perform PPM and reactive maintenance across the building to keep it in top condition, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a salary up to £40,000 plus overtime and benefits.

Key duties include carpentry, basic plumbing, painting, joinery, door hardware, and small refurbishment works. The role requires hands-on experience in commercial facilities maintenance and a proactive problem-solving approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Fabric Engineer or similar.
• Strong all-round building maintenance background.
• Experience in commercial buildings or facilities management.
• Proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.

The Role

You'll be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fabric maintenance across the site. This is a varied position where no two days are the same, ensuring the building is maintained to a high standard.

Typical duties include:

• General building fabric repairs
• Carpentry and joinery
• Basic plumbing repairs
• Painting and decorating
• Patch plastering and making good
• Door, lock and ironmongery repairs
• Ceiling and flooring repairs
• Supporting small refurbishment and project works

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Fabric Engineer, Fabric Technician, Maintenance Operative, Building Maintenance Technician or similar
• A strong all-round building maintenance background
• Experience working within commercial buildings or Facilities Management
• Good knowledge of carpentry, basic plumbing and general fabric maintenance
• A proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills
