Job summary

Invictus Group is seeking an experienced Fabric Engineer to join the facilities team at a prestigious corporate building in the City of London. The role covers planned and reactive fabric maintenance to ensure high standards of facilities management.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial building maintenance, good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience as Fabric Engineer or similar in commercial buildings.
• Strong fabric/building maintenance skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• General fabric repairs and maintenance throughout the building.
• Basic carpentry, plumbing, decorating and building maintenance tasks.
• Repairing doors, locks, fixtures, fittings and general building fabric.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns.
• Maintain a safe, clean and professional working environment.
• Support the wider facilities and engineering team as required.
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with health & safety procedures.
• Complete maintenance records and report defects or issues.

Fabric Engineer - City of London

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum

Location: City of London

Working Hours: Monday-Friday | 7:00am-4:00pm & 10:00am-7:00pm (rotating shifts)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fabric Engineer to join the facilities team at a prestigious large corporate building in the City of London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Fabric Engineer looking for a stable, long-term position within a professional corporate environment, working as part of a well-established engineering and facilities team.

The Role

As a Fabric Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive fabric maintenance across the building, ensuring the facilities are maintained to a high standard and providing an excellent level of service to the client.

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• General fabric repairs and maintenance throughout the building.
• Basic carpentry, plumbing, decorating and building maintenance tasks.
• Repairing doors, locks, fixtures, fittings and general building fabric.
• Responding promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and professional working environment.
• Supporting the wider facilities and engineering team where required.
• Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with health & safety procedures.
• Completing maintenance records and reporting any defects or issues.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a Fabric Engineer, Fabric Technician, Maintenance Engineer or similar.
• A strong background in commercial building maintenance.
• Good practical skills across general fabric/building maintenance.
• Experience working within a corporate or high-end commercial environment is desirable.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• A professional approach and strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
• Relevant maintenance or trade qualifications would be advantageous.
