Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions is recruiting a Fabric Engineer for a leading FM service provider in London. You will perform fabric PPMs and reactive maintenance in a commercial building, including healthcare environments, on a Monday–Friday schedule from 08:00 to 17:00.

This is an on-site, ongoing contract with the potential for overtime and an immediate start. The role requires knowledge of building fabric duties, strong communication, and health & safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of commercial building maintenance is required.
• An understanding of most fabric duties in a real-world setting.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Health & Safety experience is preferred.
• Basic PC literacy including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Paint and decorate as part of fabric work and repairs.
• General fabric repairs and upkeep.
• Move furniture and assist with porterage.
• Install/repair fixtures like shelves, doors and fittings.
• Maintain and update log books and records.
• Support the on-site maintenance team with PPMs and safety checks.
• Escort subcontractors on site.
• Undertake basic fabric duties such as touch-ups, tightening hinges and minor repairs.

Fabric Engineer – FM Service Provider - Commercial Building – London - £22 per hour

Exciting opportunity to work for a leading FM Service Provider situated in London. CBW is currently recruiting for a Fabric Engineer, the successful candidate will have an all-around understanding of most fabric duties and a proven track record in commercial building maintenance and experience working within a healthcare environment . Working within a team on-site, he or she will need to carry out fabric PPM and reactive maintenance.

Working hours

Monday - Friday

08:00 am - 17:00pm

On-going contract

£22 per hour (umbrella)

Overtime available

Immediate start

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Painting & Decorating
• General fabric repairs
• Furniture moves porterage
• Fixing Furniture
• Hanging Pictures & Shelves
• Maintain and update Log books
• Assist the maintenance team on site e.g PPMs, fire alarm tests, tap temp checks, flushing
• Escort sub-contractors
• To undertake basic “Fabric duties” which would include touching up paintwork, tightening hinges, install/repair blinds, changing locks , making minor repairs to cabinets, desks, and putting together small equipment like chairs etc.
