Job summary

Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains invites a Materials Engineering Placement Student to join a specialist team working on the relationship between structures and material properties to support performance and durability of the Hybrid Power Unit.

You will independently manage research projects, access state-of-the-art facilities, and contribute to technologies that may race in F1. A strong academic record and hands-on engineering mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Curious, tenacious and driven individuals who thrive in a fast paced environment.
• On track to achieve a 2.1 degree or higher in Materials Engineering/Metallurgy or related field.
• Strong academic background in relevant A-Level maths/science subjects.
• Excellent understanding of engineering first principles.
• Hands-on experience to complement academic studies.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own materials research and development project work.
• Develop materials technologies to support performance and manufacturing feasibility.
• Gain hands-on access to a wide variety of equipment to enhance characterisation skills.
