Job summary

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Ilford is seeking a dedicated and nurturing EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. You'll support children within an EYFS classroom, delivering 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND, including non-verbal children with complex needs.

You'll help manage risks per care plans and foster communication, social and emotional development, working closely with teachers, SEND staff and external professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in EYFS or primary settings.
• Experience with non-verbal pupils and/or complex needs is desirable.
• Patient, compassionate and proactive approach.
• Able to support children with varying additional needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for helping every child reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Support children within an EYFS classroom in a mainstream primary setting.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
• Work with two non-verbal children needing high levels of support.
• Manage and monitor choking hazard risks per care plans and procedures.
• Support children's communication, social interaction and emotional development.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEND staff and external professionals.
