Job summary

The Crossways Schools in Thornbury are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our EYFS team. The role supports both class and individual pupils, including those with SEND, and requires teamwork, clear communication, and the ability to provide constructive feedback to teachers.

The post is a fixed-term contract until August 2027, 12.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 11:00–13:30), term-time only with INSET days.

Qualifications

• Recognised Teaching Assistant qualification equivalent to NVQ level 2.
• Experience of working with children in a school setting.
• Experience of working with children individually and in groups, including those with SEND.
• Sound basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with pupils to address individual needs.
• Ability to work without supervision and provide accurate feedback to teachers.

Responsibilities

• Support whole classes and individuals in EYFS.
• Work with teaching staff to support pupil attainment, progress and well-being.
