Job summary

Eccleston Primary School in Chorley is seeking a warm Nursery Assistant / Early Years Teaching Assistant to join Beechbuds Nursery. Part-time, 19.5 hours per week during term time, with shifts Wed–Fri 8:30am–3:30pm.

You will support learning and development in the EYFS, maintain a safe, inclusive environment, assist with care routines, and work as part of a supportive team under the EYFS lead, with a Level 2 childcare qualification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 childcare qualification or equivalent.
  • Desirable Level 3 childcare qualification or equivalent.
  • Paediatric first aid certificate (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Support children’s learning, play and development through high-quality interactions, activities and continuous provision.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and stimulating environment, indoors and outdoors, following school Health & Safety procedures.
  • Be sensitive to the needs of all children and promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and independence.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with children, staff and parents.
  • Support children with care routines such as toileting, snack times and personal hygiene.
  • Assist in preparing resources, setting up and tidying learning areas, and maintaining equipment.
  • Observe children’s progress and share information with the class teacher or EYFS lead as required.

Eccleston Primary are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Nursery Assistant / Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our school’s in-house nursery provision, Beechbuds. This is a school-based TA role working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to support high-quality learning, development and care for our youngest pupils. The successful candidate will work as part of our Early Years team, contributing to a warm, inclusive and nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn.

We are looking for someone who is warm, caring and enthusiastic about working with young children, and who can work effectively as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, a positive attitude, and be reliable, organised and committed to providing high-quality early education. They will understand the importance of safeguarding and maintaining a safe environment and ideally have a Level 2 childcare qualification or equivalent.

This position is part-time, term-time only. Please note that the salary quoted is the full-time equivalent and will be paid on a pro-rata basis.
