Job summary

E-ACT Reedswood Academy is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support children in our Reception class, working closely with the class teacher to provide a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.

The role requires EYFS experience and a passion for helping young children learn and thrive. The position is term-time/45 weeks with a fixed term until 31 August 2027 and a starting salary on NJC SCP 9-17.

Qualifications

  • TA3 qualification or relevant experience.
  • GCSE Maths and English minimum grade C or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with children who have a wide variety of educational needs.
  • Ruth Miskin Phonics experience - this would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual Education/Behaviour plans and Personal Care programs as agreed with the teacher.
  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well‑being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.

Education

TA3 qualification or relevant experience
GCSE Maths and English minimum grade C
Experience with a wide variety of educational needs
Ruth Miskin Phonics experience (advantage)

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team at Reedswood, supporting children in our Reception class.

The successful candidate will have experience working within an Early Years setting and a genuine passion for supporting young children to learn, develop and thrive. You will work closely with the class teacher to provide a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive learning environment where every child can reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities:

Pay range:

NJC SCP 9-17 £21,749.73 - £24,757.28 (Starting at SCP 9)

(FTE: £28,153.00 - £32,046.00)

32.5 hours per week, term time only 39 weeks per year.

Fixed Term until 31st August 2027.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • TA3 qualification or relevant experience

  • Relevant educational experience supporting a child/children in a primary school setting
  • Experience of working with children who have a wide variety of educational needs
  • Has Ruth Miskin Phonics experience - this would be an advantage, but is not essential.
