Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate EYFS Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a Sunderland primary school on a full-time basis. You will work with varied SEN including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and PMLD, delivering targeted sessions and supporting staff to meet individual needs.

The role is based in Sunderland, with a focus on EYFS pupils. The contract is full-time until December 2026, with ASAP start and pay ranging £88-£110 per day. Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS are required.

Qualifications

• EYFS Level 3 qualification or higher is required.
• Experience of working with children in UK schools.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate, proactive and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistants (minimum level 3 qualified) to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational Primary Schools across Sunderland on a full-time basis. About the Role:

The role will involve supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. The different types of SEN that pupils have may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and PMLD. The role will also involve delivering intervention sessions to small groups of pupils to boost their understanding and progress. A key part of the role will be to develop an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of different pupils within the classroom, working closely alongside Class Teachers and colleagues to establish this. The role will also involve supporting across the School at breaktimes and lunchtimes as required.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

• Pay - Between £88-110 per day
• Hours - 08.30-15:30
• Contract - Full-time until December 2026. Temporary Contract.

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

• EYFS Level 3 Qualification or Higher
• Experience of working with Children in Schools in the UK
• An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional references that cover the last two years
