Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking an EYFS Teacher for maternity cover at a friendly primary school in Papworth, Cambridgeshire, starting January 2027. The role is 4 days per week with pay of £140-£232 per day, depending on experience.

You will plan and deliver engaging EYFS learning, support early reading and phonics, observe progress, and collaborate with teaching assistants and parents to create a nurturing, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK is required.
• Experience teaching within a primary school is required.
• Ideally, experience within EYFS is preferred.
• Good understanding of the EYFS framework.
• Strong understanding of phonics and early reading.
• Positive, patient, nurturing classroom management.
• Ability to create engaging learning opportunities for children with different needs.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to complete clearance.

The role

As the EYFS Teacher, you'll take responsibility for an Early Years class, providing a safe, stimulating and engaging learning environment where every child is encouraged to explore, learn and thrive.

You'll plan and deliver purposeful learning opportunities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, balancing adult-led activities with opportunities for child-initiated learning and play.

A key part of the role will be supporting children with their communication and language, early reading, phonics, writing and mathematical development, while also helping them build the personal, social and emotional skills they need as they progress through school.

What we're looking for

To be considered for this EYFS Teacher position, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
• Experience teaching within a primary school
• Ideally, previous experience teaching within EYFS
• A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
• A strong understanding of phonics and early reading
• A positive, patient and nurturing approach to classroom management
• The ability to create engaging learning opportunities for children with different needs and abilities
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to complete the required clearance
• Two positive refer
