Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting energetic and compassionate EYFS SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a specialist SEN school in Preston. This role focuses on EYFS and primary pupils with complex needs, requiring you to be active, engaging and hands-on throughout the school day.

You will help children access learning, develop communication, regulate emotions, and build life skills while working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals.
• Patient, resilient and able to adapt to changing situations.
• Enjoy a practical, active role and are comfortable being on their feet throughout the day.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships and create a nurturing learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Support EYFS and primary-aged pupils with complex needs.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support throughout the school day.
• Assist pupils with communication, sensory and learning activities.
• Support emotional regulation and positive engagement in learning.
• Encourage independence and development of life skills.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
• Support personal care where required.
• Remain active and on your feet while moving between activities.
