Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming primary school in Houghton Regis to appoint an Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant from September. You will support Nursery and Reception children with SEN, delivering one-to-one and small group interventions to boost communication, confidence and learning through play.

Ideal candidates will have EYFS or SEN experience, be patient and proactive, and able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in an Early Years or SEN setting.
• Patient, calm and genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Proactive, reliable and willing to get involved in all aspects of school life.
• Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or happy to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children in Nursery and Reception with Special Educational Needs.
• Delivering one-to-one and small group interventions.
• Encouraging speech, language, social and emotional development through play-based learning.
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and outside professionals.
• Creating a safe, positive and engaging environment where every child can thrive.
