Job summary

Teach Now is seeking a part-time SEND Teaching Assistant for an EYFS and primary special school in Enfield. The role focuses on supporting pupils with ASD, PMLD, SEMH and trauma-related needs, combining early learning with care and relationship-building to help children feel secure and ready to learn.

Based in the UK, you will work 8:30am–3:30pm during term time, with a DBS check and safeguarding commitment required. Start in November 2026, with ongoing long-term temporary placement.

Qualifications

• School-based SEND experience is essential.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, PMLD, SEMH or trauma-related needs.
• Confidence with personal care, communication support and emotional regulation; specialist training welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support through accessible play and multisensory learning.
• Use visual supports, objects of reference and agreed communication aids to promote choice.
• Follow sensory and behaviour support plans, using calm, trauma-informed co-regulation.
• Assist with personal care, meals and mobility under individual plans and within your training.
• Support transitions and share observations on communication, wellbeing and progress with the class team.
