Job summary

Pomphlett Primary School is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Pre‑School Teaching Assistant to support our Early Years team. You will help deliver engaging activities, support SEND pupils, and promote a nurturing environment for all children.

The role requires NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) and GCSEs, with at least one year in a primary setting. You will work closely with staff to monitor progress and foster inclusion, wellbeing and development.

Qualifications

  • Must have NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
  • At least one year's experience in a primary school setting.
  • Recent experience supporting individuals, small groups and whole classes.
  • Strong safeguarding and child welfare knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning activities.

Pomphlett Primary School is looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Pre‑School Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support our youngest learners during a crucial stage of their development and make a real difference to children's educational and personal growth.

We are seeking an individual who is committed to creating a positive, nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can flourish. The successful candidate will work closely with our teaching staff to deliver engaging learning experiences and provide support for all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The Role

As a Pre‑School Teaching Assistant, you will:

We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:
  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
  • At least one year's experience working within a primary school setting.
  • Recent experience supporting individual pupils, small groups and whole‑class learning.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child welfare.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire young children.
  • A positive, flexible and collaborative approach to working as part of a team.
  • Recent experience within an EYFS setting.
