Job summary

A highly regarded independent school in Central London is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join its Early Years team. The successful candidate will support the Room Lead with daily classroom operations, help children settle, and promote a safe, nurturing environment aligned with the EYFS framework.

The role emphasizes building positive relationships with children, parents and staff, contributing to pastoral duties and school life while delivering high-quality care

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or above in Childcare/Early Years.
• Experience in an EYFS setting.
• Good safeguarding and wellbeing knowledge.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both adults and children.
• Flexible and reliable with good timekeeping.
• Degree or equivalent would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Room Lead with day-to-day classroom running.
• Help children settle and assist with personal care routines, including toileting and handwashing.
• Encourage independence, development and positive behaviour.
• Prepare refreshments and keep the classroom tidy and well-organised.
• Assist with activities, craft sessions, displays and learning resources.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Support children's learning and development in line with the EYFS framework.
• Attend staff meetings, training days, parents' evenings and other school events as required.
• Undertake pastoral and supervisory duties and contribute to the wider life of the school.
• Always promote and safeguard the safety and wellbeing of children.
