Job summary

Knight Education is seeking an enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join an independent Nursery in London for an immediate start. You must hold a Level 3 EYFS qualification.

The role focuses on building confidence with positive feedback, and involves working with parents to support pupil welfare. You will assist the Room Lead with daily classroom duties, help children settle, prepare displays and ensure a clean, welcoming environment, while participating in safeguarding and ongoing school

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 EYFS Qualification.
• Experience in early years setting preferred.
• Willingness to undergo safeguarding checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Room Lead with general classroom duties and help children settle on arrival.
• Keep the classroom tidy and well organised; prep for and clear up after craft and topic sessions.
• Assist in preparing wall displays.
• Maintain appropriate discipline and ensure class rules are followed.
• Attend training days, staff meetings and parents’ evenings; be available to discuss child welfare.

Job description

Knight Education are currently looking for an enthusiastic, hard working and bright Nursery Practitioner to join an independant Nursery for an immediate start. Must hold a Level 3 EYFS Qualification.

The Nursery Practitioner will be required to:

• Assist the Room Lead with general classroom duties including helping the children to settle on arrival, taking children to the loo and encourage independence with washing hands etc. Prepare juice, fruit and/or biscuits for the children and clean up afterwards
• Assist the Room Lead in ensuring that the classroom is well organised, tidy and functioning effectively. Prepare for and clear up after craft and topic sessions
• Assist the Room Lead in the preparation of wall displays.
• Ensure that the right level of discipline is maintained in the classroom and that the children follow the class rules.
• Attend training days, staff meetings, parents’ evenings and any other functions as required by the Head. Be available to parents for advice and discussion regarding their child, each day.
• Play a full part in the life of the School, be flexible and aware of what is happening throughout the school. Undertake pastoral and supervisory duties in the School as required.
• The Nursery Practitioner is expected to be in school between the contracted hours each school day and for preparation days prior to the beginning and end of each term, as designated by the Head, to whom the Nursery Practitioner (Room Lead) is responsible (Deputy Head teacher in his/her absence).
• Must hold a relevant Level 3 EYFS Qualification. Salary The School has its own competitive salary which is reviewed annually. There is a Workplace Pension Scheme available to all staff.
