Job summary

HEART Academies Trust is seeking a Level 3 qualified Early Years support practitioner to contribute to safe, high‑quality education for children in a collaborative school environment in Bedford. You will support learning under EYFS leadership, work with the SENDCo, and help implement inclusive classroom practices.

The role involves delivering activities, assisting with behaviour management, and using ICT to enhance pupil learning.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 qualification.
• Knowledge and understanding of the needs and characteristics of children.
• Ability to consistently motivate and encourage pupils to learn.
• Experience of working in a school setting.
• Experience of working with young people with a range of Special Education Needs.
• Experience of managing behaviour effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high‑quality education, care and welfare for children.
• Contribute to and implement school policies.
• Work under the direction of the Headteacher, EYFS Lead and Class Teachers to become part of a successful team.
• Fulfill legal and statutory requirements.
• Under the guidance of the EYFS Leader to use a range of supporting techniques to present learning tasks and curriculum content in a clear and stimulating manner to maintain pupils’ interest and motivation and to help pupils learn effectively through guiding, advising and feedback.
• Under the guidance of the Early Years Leader to deliver learning activities to individual and groups of pupils.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team across the school, in particular the Early Years Leader, the SENDCo and other teaching assistants.
