Job summary

HEART Academies Trust is seeking a level 3 qualified Early Years practitioner for Goldington Green Academy. The role supports safe, high-quality education and welfare for children within a team including EYFS leaders and teaching staff.

The post requires experience in schools and SEN, with a focus on motivating pupils and maintaining positive behaviour. Term-time hours total 32.5 per week, Mon-Fri 8:30–15:30, with maternity cover until 31/08/2027.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 qualification.
• Knowledge of the needs and characteristics of children.
• Experience in a school setting.
• Experience with pupils with SEN.
• Ability to motivate and encourage pupils.
• Experience in managing behaviour effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality education, care and welfare for children.
• Contribute to and implement school policies.
• Work under the direction of the Headteacher, EYFS Lead and Class Teachers as part of a successful team.
• Fulfil legal and statutory requirements.
• Deliver learning activities to individuals and groups with ICT support.
• Collaborate with colleagues including the SENDCo and other teaching assistants.

Main Duties Include

• To provide safe, high-quality education, care and welfare for children
• To contribute to and implement school policies.
• To work under the direction of the Headteacher, EYFS Lead and Class Teachers to become part of a successful team.
• To fulfill legal and statutory requirements.
• Under the guidance of the EYFS Leader to use a range of supporting techniques to present learning tasks and curriculum content in a clear and stimulating manner in order to maintain pupils’ interest and motivation and to help pupils to learn effectively through guiding, advising and feedback. This will include the effective use of ICT to support pupils’ learning.
• Under the guidance of the Early Years Leader to deliver learning activities to individual and groups of pupils.
• To work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team across the school, in particular the Early Years Leader, the Special Educational Needs coordinator (SENDCo) and other teaching assistants; working at all times within the school’s policies and procedures.

Who You Are

• Must hold the relevant Level 3 qualification.
• Knowledge and understanding of the needs and characteristics of children.
• Ability to consistently motivate and encourage pupils to learn
• Experience of working in a school setting.
• Experience of working with young people with a range of Special Education Needs.
• Experience of managing behaviour effectively

Role Details

Term time: 32.5 hours per week

Monday - Friday 8:30 - 15:30

30 minutes unpaid break

Maternity cover until 31/08/2027
