Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Bacup is seeking an experienced, fully qualified EYFS/KS1 teacher for a 1-form entry primary school. The role is full-time and until the end of the academic year, with potential for a permanent contract from September 2027.

The successful candidate will deliver a mix of early years and KS1 lessons, have QTS, and ideally experience with Read Write Inc. and high-quality phonics. You'll foster a nurturing classroom and strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Must hold QTS and have recent experience in EYFS and/or KS1.
  • Strong understanding of child development and early learning.
  • Experience delivering Read Write Inc. (RWI) is highly desirable.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons and assess pupil progress.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for EYFS/KS1.
  • Deliver high-quality phonics sessions, preferably using RWI.
  • Create nurturing, well-organised classrooms and build positive relationships with pupils and parents.
  • Use assessments to support attainment and progression.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced, fully qualified teacher to join a welcoming and supportive 1-form entry primary school in Bacup.

This exciting opportunity is for an EYFS / KS1 mixed class, making it ideal for a teacher with a strong understanding of Early Years and Key Stage 1 pedagogy. The school is looking for someone with a real passion for early reading and phonics, with experience delivering Read Write Inc. (RWI) highly desirable.

The role will run until the end of the academic year, with the potential to secure a permanent contract with the school from September 2027.

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)essential
  • Have recent experience teaching in EYFS and/or Key Stage 1
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of child development and early learning
  • Have proven experience delivering high-quality phonics sessions, ideally using Read Write Inc. (RWI)
  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative and inclusive lessons that inspire young learners
  • Use assessment effectively to support pupil progress and attainment
  • Create a nurturing, stimulating and well‑organised classroom environment
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Be committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential
  • A welcoming and supportive 1-form entry school environment
