This unique school supports students aged 4 - 11 years with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, delivering a tailored curriculum that prioritises therapeutic learning and personal development over traditional methods. The school offers a warm, inclusive and nurturing environment where creativity and flexibility are celebrated.

About the Role:

This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated teacher to take a key role in supporting students with a wide range of needs - both within the classroom and across the wider school community. You’ll have the chance to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and make a measurable difference to their academic, emotional and social progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative, individualised lessons across EYFS and/or KS1
  • Support students with MLD, SEMH and other complex needs
  • Foster emotional wellbeing and encourage positive behaviour
  • Collaborate closely with support staff, therapists and parents/carers
  • Monitor progress and adapt strategies to ensure inclusive learning
  • Contribute to a supportive, team focused school culture

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential (please note this role is not suitable for ECTs)
  • Experience working with pupils with SEN/SEMH is highly desirable
  • Confident in teaching Early Years and/or Key Stage 1 curriculum
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and child-centred learning
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour
  • Resilient, proactive and ready to fully engage in school life
