Job summary

Spring Meadow Primary School in Harwich seeks a maternity cover EYFS class teacher to support our pupils' success. The role requires an enthusiastic, resilient candidate with QTS or EYFS qualification and a proven track record in early years teaching.

You will deliver engaging learning aligned with the EYFS framework, build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues, and contribute to safeguarding and inclusive practices across the school.

Qualifications

  • Holds QTS or EYFS teaching qualification.

  • Assess, monitor and report pupil progress using data to inform teaching.
  • Create a positive, safe, stimulating classroom environment.
  • Ensure safeguarding, welfare and health & safety requirements are met.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff and parents/carers.
  • Contribute to wider school life and extracurricular activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and fulfil statutory duties.

We are looking for a passionate, resilient and inclusive qualified teacher to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will have the ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and create an engaging learning environment that supports both academic progress and emotional development.

  • · Support pupils to develop resilience, confidence and independence in learning
The Ideal Candidate
  • · Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an EYFS recognised teaching qualification
  • · Has strong, up-to-date knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • · Demonstrates proven experience in early years teaching
  • · Is patient, resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
  • · Has strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
  • · Understands SEMH needs and trauma-informed approaches
