Job summary

Aviva is seeking an External Reporting Controls Manager to join a specialist team driving a robust control environment across the global finance function, including ESG metrics. The role focuses on testing design and operation of controls and supporting improvements to the control framework.

You will lead control assessments, interact with control owners and external auditors, and help move from manual to automated controls while delivering high-quality evidence and reporting to senior

Qualifications

• Experience designing, documenting and testing key controls.
• Knowledge of automated control scoping and testing.
• Ability to challenge constructively and maintain credibility with control owners and auditors.
• Understanding of ESG reporting standards and requirements.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to switch between collaboration and independent work.

Responsibilities

• Lead process walkthroughs and assess control design, evidence, and operating effectiveness.
• Manage control assessment activity and report conclusions to the Senior Manager.
• Collaborate with external auditors and support assurance work, including reliance on FRCF/NFRCF work.
• Contribute to board and audit committee reporting on control environment and testing results.
