This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a specialised team of external reporting control experts seeking to ensure that Aviva has an effective and robust control structure as it transitions to a leaner, more streamlined external reporting function. The purpose of this role is to help maintain an effective financial and non-financial reporting control environment across the global finance function, including ESG metrics. This includes testing the design and operating effectiveness of existing controls and advising on improvements to the control environment.
The role will also be at the forefront of driving change as we move from manual to more automated controls, so a strong curiosity about process and control improvement is required.
You’ll help protect the quality and reliability of our financial and non-financial reporting, including ESG metrics, by leading process walkthroughs and assessing whether key controls are appropriately designed, evidenced and operating effectively.
You will manage assigned control assessment activity, reporting conclusions to the Senior Manager on the design and operating effectiveness of controls, and working with control owners to ensure issues are clearly understood and remediated within agreed timeframes. You will also work closely with external auditors, supporting the provision of high-quality evidence and assurance work, including where external auditor reliance may be placed on work performed by the Financial Reporting Control Framework (FRCF) and Non-Financial Reporting Control Framework (NFRCF) team. This role contributes to the production of reports to key stakeholders including Board and Audit Committees on the effectiveness of financial and non-financial controls, and the internal control environment.
