Job summary

McLaren in Woking seeks a strategic Head of Exteriors to lead the exterior engineering and design across multiple projects. You will drive program delivery, interface with manufacturing, purchasing, and customers, and ensure design integrity while meeting cost targets.

You will mentor a team of engineers, manage external partners, and champion best-practice processes within the McLaren Development Process. A mechanical/automotive background with APQP experience is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Lead exterior systems across multiple vehicle programs.
• Experience in APQP or equivalent framework preferred.
• Strong knowledge of exterior mechanisms, plastics & composites.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and tactical direction for exterior design strategy and delivery.
• Direct responsibility for all exterior design content on new and series vehicles.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Drive KPI targets for cost, quality and on-time delivery.
