Job summary

Freightserve recruitment is seeking a manager to oversee Express and Courier customer service operations in the UK. The role involves leading up to 20 staff, driving service delivery, and developing teams while monitoring profitability and invoicing accuracy.

You will promote business development, manage internal and external relationships, and ensure SOPs cover all client operational requirements. Knowledge of HMRC rules and time-critical freight is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must have customs knowledge of Imports and Exports.
• AOG / Time critical knowledge would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Managerial responsibility for customer service delivery to Express and Courier department Client base.
• Management of Express / Courier Customer Service Teams, including staff development and resource planning.
• Managing up to 20 staff.
• Follow up and resolve any negative feedback re operational issues / customer service concerns raised by the customer.
• Responsibility for Gross Profit analysis, and Sales Invoicing / Job costing accuracy.
• To promote business development, ensuring all opportunities from existing business is followed up through telephone sales, prospect sales site visits and quotations.
• Contribute to ongoing operational development and cost saving measures.
• Identify areas of operational improvement by reviewing processes regularly.
• Keep up to date with Express / Time Critical and Courier market trends, and industry news.
• Establish, Manage and Maintain Internal and External Relationships.
• To ensure internal processes and client’s operational requirements are fully documented within SOPs.
• Managing Implementation for new business.
• Training for new staff on operational and account procedures.
• Ensure all HMRC entry regulations are met, through self-auditing of Import entries.
