Job summary

TIME Appointments Ltd in Felixstowe is seeking an Exports Operations Clerk to join a global, award-winning business. You will handle export shipments, prepare documentation and liaise with customers and partners in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires at least 6 months’ experience in import/export operations, strong communication, and proficiency with shipping systems such as CNS or Destin8. Training and a supportive team are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months’ experience within import or export operations.
• Familiarity with CNS, Destin8 or other shipping and logistics systems.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent telephone manner and confidence communicating with customers and external partners.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and Microsoft Office.
• Positive, proactive attitude and ability to work well within a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Processing export shipments and ensuring all relevant documentation is completed accurately.
• Preparing and checking shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.
• Liaising with customers, shipping lines, hauliers, freight forwarders and other parties to coordinate export movements.
• Updating internal systems with shipment details.
• Monitoring shipment progress and providing customers with updates on exports.
• Handling telephone and email enquiries.
• Ensuring all export paperwork is completed within deadlines.
• Assisting with the preparation and submission of customs documentation where required.
• Resolving routine shipment queries and escalating issues when necessary.
