Job summary

Aqua Dynamics Ltd, based in Oxfordshire, seeks an Experienced Waterjet Machinist to operate and maintain OMAX waterjet machines, producing high-precision components per detailed drawings. You will set up jobs, choose cutting parameters, load materials, monitor performance, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances in a fast-paced workshop.

You will read engineering drawings, prepare cut paths, perform routine maintenance, and keep accurate production records.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in CNC waterjet machining, including machine setup, operation, and routine maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and technical specifications with high accuracy.
• Proficiency in measuring and inspection techniques, using tools such as calipers and gauges to verify tolerances.
• Knowledge of cutting parameters for different materials and an understanding of production workflows.
• Solid understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems, including documentation and traceability.
• Commitment to health and safety best practices in a workshop environment.
• Effective communication and ability to collaborate with a small team and adapt to changing priorities.
• Prior waterjet precision engineering is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Set up jobs on OMAX waterjet cutting machines and select appropriate parameters.
• Load and secure materials, monitor machine performance, and adjust as needed.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure tolerances and quality standards are met.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, prepare CNC programs or cut paths.
• Perform routine maintenance and maintain production and quality records.
• Collaborate with the production team to manage workflows and schedules.
• Support fast turnaround times and continuous improvement initiatives.
