Job summary

Milk Education in Stretford is seeking Experienced and Qualified Teaching Assistants to support welcoming secondary schools on short-term, long-term, or temp-to-perm basis. This role is suitable for TAs with experience in KS3/KS4 and a confident classroom presence.

You will work alongside teachers to adapt resources, support pupils with SEN/SEMH, deliver targeted interventions, and help maintain positive behaviour and routines.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school or education setting.
  • Desirable Level 2/3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN/SEMH/ASD/behavioural needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support students across KS3 and KS4 one-to-one, small group, and in-class.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt resources for learning.
  • Provide targeted SEN/SEMH/ASD support and interventions.
  • Deliver intervention, catch-up and targeted learning sessions.
  • Support positive behaviour and classroom routines.
  • Build relationships to boost confidence, attendance, and progress.
  • Assist with pastoral support and removing barriers to learning.

We’re currently recruiting for Experienced and Qualified Teaching Assistants in Stretford to support welcoming secondary schools on a short-term, long-term, or temp-to-perm basis. This Teaching Assistant job in Stretford is ideal for confident TAs who have experience working within secondary education and can make an immediate impact in the classroom.

You’ll be joining supportive secondary schools across Stretford that value inclusion, student wellbeing and strong relationships between staff and pupils. We’re looking for Teaching Assistants who are capable, confident and have a strong presence in the classroom, with the ability to engage pupils and support them academically, socially and emotionally.

This Teaching Assistant opportunity in Stretford would suit candidates with experience in general classroom support, SEN support, SEMH provision, behaviour mentoring, pastoral support, or intervention work.

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 on a one-to-one, small-group and classroom basis
  • Working alongside class teachers to support learning and adapt resources where required
  • Providing targeted support for students with SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD and other additional needs
  • Delivering intervention, catch-up and targeted learning sessions
  • Supporting positive behaviour, engagement and classroom routines
  • Building strong relationships with students to improve confidence, attendance and progress
  • Assisting with pastoral support and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
Requirements or Skills
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a secondary school or education setting
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning, Childcare, Education or similar is desirable
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, Autism or behavioural needs is highly desirable
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the confidence to establish yourself within a classroom
  • A professional, capable and confident presence when working with secondary-aged pupils
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Comfortable taking direction from teachers while also working independently when required

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
