Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools across South Tyneside and surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to help students build confidence, overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, supportive and positive approach.
  • Confidence working with students.
  • Professional, reliable and adaptable attitude.
  • Previous school experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the classroom.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support where required.
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom organisation.
  • Encourage student engagement, confidence and independence.
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs and SEND.
  • Help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their goals.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students.
  • Support positive behaviour and follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the classroom
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom organisation
