Job description

We are currently looking for experienced classroom support staff to work in primary and secondary schools across the Macclesfield area. This role is well-suited to individuals who have worked in educational settings and are confident supporting pupils and teachers in a classroom environment.

Experience is essential, and while formal qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate are desirable, they are not required if you have strong, relevant classroom experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting teachers with the delivery of lessons and classroom management

• Assisting pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis to support learning

• Helping to prepare learning materials and classroom resources

• Supporting pupils with additional needs, including those with SEND

• Promoting positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive learning environment

• Engaging in wider school life where needed

Requirements:

• Previous experience providing classroom support (ideally 6–12 months or more)

• A proactive, flexible, and reliable approach

• Confidence working with children and young people across a range of abilities

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
