Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking an Experienced Social Worker to join our Locality Teams. You will assess needs, develop care plans, and provide direct support to individuals and families, coordinating with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure safe, effective services.

The role requires a recognized Social Work qualification, registration with Social Work England, and prior locality-based experience.

Qualifications

• Recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, or equivalent).
• Registration with Social Work England is required.
• Significant experience in social work practice, preferably within locality teams.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in social work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate with colleagues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ needs and circumstances.
• Develop and review care plans in collaboration with clients and other professionals.
• Provide direct support and intervention to individuals and families facing complex challenges.
• Work closely with statutory and voluntary agencies to coordinate services and resources.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with council policies.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of service delivery.
