Nottingham City Council is recruiting an Advanced Social Work Practitioner for Locality Teams. This full-time, permanent role combines direct work with children and families with a practice leadership remit.
You will hold complex caseloads, supervise peers, and contribute to developing practice across the Locality Teams within a hybrid working environment.
Working pattern: Hybrid working. Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
We are looking for experienced social workers to join our Locality team as Advanced Social Work Practitioners.
Our front line Locality Teams have recently been reshaped to reflect the Family First Partnership reforms to ensure that children receive help and support from the right person at the right time, with seamless support from both their professional and family network.
As an Advanced Social Work Practitioner, you'll combine direct work with children and families with a key practice leadership role. You'll hold a caseload of complex children and family work, while providing guidance, coaching and support to colleagues across the team.
Working across Child in Need, Child Protection and Care Proceedings, you'll use your knowledge and experience to undertake assessments to support effective decision making, manage risk, and help achieve positive outcomes for children and families. You'll play an important role in developing practice, supporting less experienced social workers and promoting high-quality, relationship-based social work.
This is an ideal opportunity for experienced practitioners who are passionate about practice excellence and want to extend their influence beyond their own caseload while continuing to work directly with children and families.
You'll bring:
Through reflective supervision, coaching and ongoing professional development, you'll be supported to strengthen your practice leadership skills and continue progressing your career within a service that values learning, development and professional excellence.
Our career pathway recognises growing expertise, professional influence and leadership, creating opportunities to progress into management roles while continuing to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children, young people and families across Nottingham.
Working for Nottingham City Council comes with a wide range of benefits. Alongside competitive pay, generous annual leave and access to an excellent pension scheme, we are committed to creating an innovative, inclusive, and progressive workplace where colleagues are supported to be their very best.
In return, we are looking for compassionate, dedicated people who share our commitment to improving outcomes for children, young people, adults, and families across Nottingham. If you are passionate about making a positive difference through education and social care and want to help people thrive, we would love to hear from you.
