Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Rochdale is seeking an experienced SEN Support Assistant for a mainstream secondary school. The role focuses on supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH needs, both 1:1 and in small groups.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a secondary school setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or SEMH.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
• Support students academically and pastorally.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and develop confidence and independence.
• Work closely with teaching staff and the school's SEN team.
• Support positive behaviour and help students regulate emotions.
• Adapt support to meet individual pupils' needs and learning styles.
• Encourage positive engagement with lessons and school life.
• Build strong, professional relationships with pupils while maintaining boundaries.
