Job summary

Teaching Personnel is hiring a dedicated SEN Learning Support Practitioner for a specialist Primary and Secondary SEN school in Rochdale. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to support pupils with SEND, including SEMH needs, in a nurturing environment.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group assistance, helping pupils access learning, develop independence and build emotional regulation. A caring, patient approach and teamwork are essential.

  • Support pupils to access learning and develop independence.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
  • Offer one-to-one and small-group support as needed.
  • Help pupils regulate emotions and manage challenges.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and celebrate progress.
  • Adapt activities to meet individual needs and learning styles.
  • Support communication, social and emotional development.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate support.
