Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking a Residential Quantity Surveyor to join a high-end country home project team in Liphook, Hampshire. The role focuses on commercial management, cost control, and effective procurement across pre-construction to final account, ensuring projects are delivered on budget.

The successful candidate will have around 5 years of residential experience, strong negotiation and communication skills, and a good working knowledge of contracts and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in residential construction sector.
• Experience managing projects from tender to final account.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement and commercial management.
• Excellent understanding of cost control, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
• Proficiency with MS Office software.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Managing project costs from pre-construction through to completion.
• Preparing and reviewing cost plans, budgets and forecasts.
• Preparing tender and procurement documentation.
• Obtaining, analysing and negotiating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Managing subcontractor accounts, valuations and payments.
• Monitoring project expenditure and reporting on cost performance.
• Managing variations, valuations and final accounts.
• Identifying commercial risks and implementing cost-control measures.
• Working closely with project managers, site teams, clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Providing accurate commercial reports and cost advice to senior management.
• Ensuring contractual and commercial procedures are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
