Job summary

Service Care Solutions is recruiting a Litigation Lawyer for a permanent role in Stockport with hybrid working (attendance at least 2 days per week). The post offers a competitive salary and benefits within a supportive Legal Services team.

You will handle regulatory and enforcement matters, providing high-quality legal advice and representation across diverse cases. A minimum of 5 years' PQE and a valid England practising certificate are essential.

Qualifications

• 5 years' PQE in Litigation law.
• Current practising certificate to practise in England.
• Qualified as Solicitor, Barrister, or CILeX with litigation rights.
• Experience in criminal enforcement or regulatory work.
• Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and engage in criminal enforcement and regulatory work for the Council.
• Provide high-quality legal advice to internal departments and stakeholders.
• Advise and represent the Council on Trading Standards and Environmental Health matters.
• Handle breaches of enforcement notices and planning-related issues.
• Advise on Premises Licensing and Taxi/Private Hire Licensing matters.
• Manage a varied caseload from instruction to resolution.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve effective legal outcomes.
