Job summary

Saracen Care Services Ltd is seeking an Experienced Male Support Worker in Swindon to help people with learning disabilities or autism lead their best lives. You will support daily living activities, enable community access and promote independence with person-centred approaches.

We offer comprehensive training, a secure team environment, a competitive hourly rate (£13.35 band B) and sleep-in payments. A full UK driving licence and two years’ health and social care experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within adult health and social care, preferably within a supported living setting.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Experience of supporting people who may display behaviours that challenge.
  • This role is open to male applicants only due to occupational requirement under the Equality Act.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emotional and practical support to the person you are supporting during daily activities, including accessing the community.
  • Assist with domestic duties and household management, including cleaning, cooking, washing and managing finances.
  • Assist with personal care and hygiene.
  • Be able to motivate and encourage people through positive engagement and interaction.
  • Promote choice and independence, encouraging people we support to achieve their personal goals.
  • Keep accurate records, following company policies and CQC guidelines.
  • Ensure safeguarding and wellbeing of all individuals, adhering to safer recruitment guidelines.

Experienced Male Support Worker – Swindon

Location : Swindon Wiltshire

At Saracen Care, we are looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Support Workers. In this role, you will be enabling people with a learning disability or autism to “livetheir best life” – empowering people with their daily living skills and accessing the community; reaching their goals and realising their aspirations.

RatedOutstandingwith CQC, Saracen Care is the provider of choice for people with general and complex needs. The people we support live with a range of conditions such as Learning Disability, Autism, Acquired Brain Injuries, Mental Health needs and may exhibit behaviours that challenge, so we are looking for someone who is resilient, calm under pressure and committed to delivering person-centred support.

Due to the needs and preferences of the people we support, this role is open to male applicants only. This is considered to be an occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

This is a full time role with a minimum of 35 hours each week.

We have a pay banding system and are committed to staff development:

This role is paid atBand B – £13.35 per hourfor candidates with 2+ years’ experience. Sleep-in shifts are paid at£80 per sleep-in. We are unable to consider applicants without experience for this role.
