Job summary

University of Oxford invites applications for an IT Support Engineer to join the IT team at Oxford Population Health. You will provide frontline technical support to academics, students, staff and visitors, and manage incidents through our helpdesk.

The role requires experience with PC hardware/software, asset management, and ITIL familiarity, with a focus on delivering reliable, user-friendly IT services in a university setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in first-line PC support within a customer-focused IT environment.
• Experience installing, troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with asset management, including ordering and stock control.
• Experience managing small IT projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
• Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and processes.
• Experience supporting Apple Mac computers, mobile devices, and working within a university IT environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical IT support to academics, students, staff and visitors.
• Manage incidents and service requests via the helpdesk system.
