Job summary

Holt Engineering in Poole is seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join our precision machining team. You will program, set and operate CNC lathes, work with live tooling and multi‑axis machines, and contribute to the manufacture of high‑quality components.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
• Experience with live tooling and/or multi-axis machines incl. sliding heads.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining tolerances and inspection processes.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality components.
• Reliable, hands-on approach to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Working with live tooling and multi-axis lathes.
• Supporting sliding head machining operations where required.
• Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings.
• Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections using measuring equipment.
• Making programme and offset adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Ensuring machines are set and running effectively to achieve production targets.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.

A well-established precision engineering business is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner to join its manufacturing team in Poole.

This is a hands‑on opportunity for a skilled CNC Turner who is confident programming, setting and operating CNC lathes within a busy engineering environment.

The role would suit someone who enjoys producing high‑quality components, working with modern CNC machinery and supporting efficient day‑to‑day production.

The Role

• Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines.
