Job summary
Team Jobs - Engineering in Poole, Dorset is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer. The role involves programming, setting and operating CNC milling and turning machines in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for progression and development.
You will work on from-scratch programming, read engineering drawings, select tooling and ensure tight tolerances with First-Off inspections, while maintaining safety and quality throughout
Qualifications
- Proven CNC machining experience within a precision engineering environment.
- Ability to programme from scratch on CNC mills and lathes.
- Strong understanding of Fanuc, Siemens or similar controls.
- Experience with low to medium batch work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Programming CNC milling and turning machines from scratch
- Setting and operating CNC machinery
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Selecting tooling, offsets and cutting parameters
- Producing precision components to tight tolerances
- Carrying out first‑off inspections and quality checks
- Troubleshooting machining issues and improving cycle times
- Maintaining a safe and organised working environment
