Job summary

Exmoor National Park Authority is seeking a Heritage Projects Officer (Heritage at Risk) on a fixed-term contract for 2.5 years to develop and deliver our Heritage at Risk programme, protecting Exmoor's historic environment.

The role involves identifying vulnerable assets, coordinating repair and conservation projects, maintaining condition records, and working with owners, partners and stakeholders to improve long-term management.

Qualifications

• Experience in heritage management, project management, archaeological conservation or building repair.
• Strong understanding of government heritage policies and statutory consents.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Good written communication skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• A degree in heritage conservation, archaeology, building conservation or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the Heritage at Risk programme to protect Exmoor’s historic environment.
• Identify vulnerable heritage assets and coordinate repair and conservation projects.
• Maintain accurate condition records and work with owners, partners and stakeholders.
• Identify funding opportunities and support new heritage designations, and help make heritage information accessible.
