Guardian Jobs is seeking a commercially minded Managing Director to lead a long-established SME in drainage, utilities and related services, located at the Berkshire/Buckinghamshire borders. Salary £85,000–£90,000 + Executive Benefits. Contract: Full-time, permanent.

Reporting to the Chairman & Board; Direct Reports: Operations Manager, Sales Manager, Executive Assistant. You will shape strategy with the Board to drive sustainable growth, explore acquisitions and new markets, and lead day-to-day

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience within an SME, contractor, utilities, construction, engineering or related operational environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with accountability for revenue growth and profitability.
• Experience leading operational teams and engaging frontline workers.
• Hands-on leadership style with practical, field-oriented understanding.
• Proven ability to win and manage bids, tenders and contracts.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the company’s strategy, vision and growth plans.
• Identify new markets, services, partnerships and investment opportunities.
• Lead day-to-day operations across field-based service delivery.
